马太福音 17:4-8 彼得对耶稣说：“主啊，我们在这里真好！你若愿意，我就在这里搭三座棚，一座为你，一座为摩西，一座为以利亚。” 说话之间，忽然有一朵光明的云彩遮盖他们，且有声音从云彩里出来，说：“这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。你们要听他！” 门徒听见，就俯伏在地，极其害怕。 耶稣进前来，摸他们，说：“起来，不要害怕！”
彼得说：“我们在这里真好。”他们看见耶稣的荣耀。他们正在经历一个令人大开眼界的启示，这向他们显明耶稣到底是谁，耶稣真是上帝的儿子。在彼得后书1章里，彼得讲述了这个故事，并说他是耶稣荣耀的见证人，“我们从前将我们主耶稣基督的大能和他降临的事告诉你们，并不是随从乖巧捏造的虚言，乃是亲眼见过他的威荣。他从父 神得尊贵荣耀的时候，从极大荣光之中有声音出来向他说：“这是我的爱子，我所喜悦的。”我们同他在圣山的时候，亲自听见这声音从天上出来。”
“我们在这里真好”。如果你正在读这篇灵修短文，那么你也可以这么说，因为耶稣仍然通过他的话语向我们启示他的荣耀。我越研读上帝的话语，就越觉得我的感受与彼得在山上的感受是一样的。今天早上我很高兴在这里学习神的话语，并思考它在我生命中的意义。很高兴见到耶稣并认识他，因为我越认识耶稣，就越确信我的救恩。
每当星期天的早晨，当我与上帝的众儿女聚会时，我也有同样的感觉。和其他基督徒聚集在一起，坐在耶稣脚前，这是一种特别的感觉。我们一起唱赞美诗，每当上帝的儿女祷告时，这祷告就上达到他的宝座前。只要看到我的兄弟姐妹们在基督里，就鼓舞着我坚定的与耶稣同行。我们在这里真好！

Matthew 17: 4-8: 4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.
“It’s good for us to be here,” Peter said. They saw Jesus in his glory. They were experiencing an eye-opening revelation of who Jesus really was, the Son of God. In his first epistle, Peter relates this tory and says that he was an eye-witness of Jesus’ glory.
“It’s good for us to be here.” If you are reading this devotion, then you can say these words, because Jesus still reveals his glory to us through his Word. The more I study the Word, the more I feel the same way that Peter felt on the mountain. It’s good for me to be here this morning, studying a portion of God’ Word and reflecting on what it means in my life. It’s good to see Jesus and to know him, because the more I know about Jesus, the more certain I am of my salvation.
I feel the same way on Sunday mornings when I gather with God’s people. There is something special about gathering together with other Christians and sitting at the feet of Jesus. Hymns are meant to be sung together. Prayers of God’s people rise to his throne. The mere presence of my brothers and sisters in Christ encourage me in my walk with Jesus.
It’s Good for us to be here.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I pray that I never get too lazy to open my Bible or to get up on Sunday morning to go to church. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a lamp to my path. In it I see your glory as my God and my Savior. It is good for us to be here as you make your presence known to us. Amen.
