希伯来书：2：10-13：10原来那为万物所属、为万物所本的，要领许多的儿子进荣耀里去，使救他们的元帅，因受苦难得以完全，本是合宜的。11因那使人成圣的和那些得以成圣的，都是出于一。所以他称他们为弟兄，也不以为耻。12说：“我要将你的名传与我的弟兄，在会中我要颂扬你。”13又说：“我要倚赖他。”又说：“看哪，我与神所给我的儿女。”
我们如何理解上帝让耶稣藉着受苦得以“完全”？难道他不是本来就完全吗？应该这样想。想象有个画家在画画。他是一位真正的大师，每一个笔触都完美。但是直到最后一笔被放到画布上之前，这幅画就算不上完美。同样，耶稣的生命也是一幅画卷，有其自身的完美含义。他从没有做过错事。他做的事情都是对的。他的一生就是一幅顺服的画卷。
当耶稣顺从天父的旨意，走向十字架为我们的罪付出代价的时候，他的生命得以完美结束。尽管耶稣深受苦痛，他仍然完美相信他的父神。谁会怀疑他的慈爱？因为他请求天父原谅他的敌人。他藉着受苦得以完美。
这个完美的人，这个完美的上帝之子，并不害怕称我们为他的兄弟姐妹。为什么？当然不是因为我们完美。我们不得不承认，即使是我们的义举也如破衣烂衫般肮脏不堪。但因为耶稣赦免了我们的罪，将他的义给了我们，他就使我们在上帝的面前成圣。他称我为弟兄，也不以为耻。我的救主竞称我为他的弟兄！哦，从这些话语里我们找到了何等喜乐，何等荣耀！
祷告：亲爱的耶稣，你称我为你的弟兄，我当然不配，但我当然不会拒绝。当我看到你完美的生命，一直完美到十字架上生命的最后一息，我在你的里面看到了我自己。我穿戴了你！我披上了你的义！藉着信心，我成为上帝的孩子，也成为你的弟兄。阿们！
Hebrews 2: 10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sister. 12 He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” 13 And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.”
How do we understand that God made Jesus “perfect” through suffering? Wasn’t he already perfect? Think of it this way. Imagine a painter painting a painting. He is a true master and every brush stroke is perfect. But the painting isn’t really perfect until the last stroke has been laid on the canvass. In the same way, Jesus whole life became a portrait for what it means to be perfect. He never did anything wrong. He always did everything right. His life was a portrait of obedience.
The perfect ending to his life came Jesus submitted to the will of his Father in heaven and went to the cross to pay for our sins. In the depths of his suffering, Jesus kept his perfect trust in his Father. Or who could doubt his love even for his enemies when he asked his Father to forgive them? He was made perfect through what he suffered.
And this perfect man, this perfect Son of God, is not afraid to call his his brothers and sisters. Why? Certainly not because we have been perfect. We have to confess that even our righteous acts are like dirty rags! But by forgiving our sins and giving us his righteousness, Jesus has made us holy in the sight of God. He is not ashamed to call me his brother! Oh, what joy, what glory, we find in this words! My Savior calls me his brother!
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I surely do not deserve it, but I surely will not deny it, that you are not ashamed to call me your brother! When I see your perfect life, perfect right up to the last breath you took on the cross, I also see myself in you. I am clothed with you. I am dressed in your righteousness.I am God’s child by faith and your brother! Amen.
