希伯来书：4:14-16：14我们既然有一位已经升入高天尊荣的大祭司，就是神的儿子耶稣，便当持定所承认的道。15因我们的大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱，他也曾凡事受过试探，与我们一样；只是他没有犯罪。16所以我们只管坦然无惧地来到施恩的宝座前，为要得怜恤、蒙恩惠，作随时的帮助。
旧约中的大祭司侍立在上帝和人中间。对于人他代表了上帝，但同时他也为人向上帝献上祷告和祭物。旧约的大祭司预表了基督对我们来说有什么重要意义。我们拥有一位多么完美的大祭司啊！
首先，因为他是神，对于我们来说，没有谁能比耶稣更能代表上帝。耶稣以神的怜恤恩待我们，这样我们可以随时坦然无惧地来到上帝的施恩宝座前。其次，他也曾凡事受过试探，所以他能与我们感同身受。体恤则意味着他了解你的感受，意思是设身处地的为某人着想。耶稣做到了。他一辈子都为你感同身受，他知道面对试探会有多么艰难。
所以当你被试探的时候，不要纠结于你通常会陷入的同一个结局。去找耶稣吧。向耶稣祷告。将你的诉求带到耶稣的宝座前，使你蒙恩惠作你随时的帮助。事实上，现在就开始做吧，从你最纠结的试探开始。
祷告：（主耶稣），谢谢你，当我被试探的时候，撒旦让我认为自己是孤身一人。但我不是。你一直和我在一起。你是我的力量、我的盾牌。今日请帮助我面对生命中的试探，不论是大还是小。阿们。
Hebrews 4: 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
The high priest in the Old Testament was the go-between between God and man. He represented God to the people and he brought prayers and sacrifices to God for the people. The high priest in the Old Testament was a shadow of what Christ came to be for us. What a perfect high priest we have!
First, because he is God, there is no one who could represent God to us better than Jesus. Jesus puts a face of mercy on God that enables us to approach God’s throne of grace with confidence in our time of need. Second, because Jesus was tempted in every way as we are tempted, he can empathize with us. To sympathize means to feel sorry for. To empathize means to know how you feel. It means to walk in someone’s shoes. Jesus did that. He walked in your shoes his whole life, and he knows how difficult temptation can be.
So when you are tempted, don’t just struggle with the same outcome you’ve always had. Go to Jesus. Pray to Jesus. Take your case before the throne of God and find grace to help you in your time of need. In fact, do that right now with the temptations you struggle with the most. Prayer: Thank you, when I am tempted, Satan wants me to think that I am alone. But I am not. You are always with me. You are my strength and my shield. Help me today as I face the temptations in my life, big and small. Amen.
