Listen: Hebrews 13: 20 Now may the God of peace—who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, in connection with his blood, which established the eternal testament— 21 may he equip you with every good thing to do his will, as he works in us what is pleasing in his sight through Jesus Christ. 希伯来书13:20-21: 20但愿赐平安的神，就是那凭永约之血使群羊的大牧人—我主耶稣从死里复活的神，21在各样善事上成全你们，叫你们遵行他的旨意；又藉着耶稣基督在你们心里行他所喜悦的事。愿荣耀归给他，直到永永远远。阿们。
这两句经文让我想起上帝为我的救恩所做的一切。我们无法与上帝和好，但是上帝藉着那从死里复活的耶稣的宝血使我们与他和好。他和我们立了永恒的约，凭着这个约他赦免了我们的过犯，不再记念我们的罪。我未曾也无法超越上帝为我所做的一切。
此外，他在各样善事上成全我们，叫我们遵行他的旨意，在我们心里不间断地行他所喜悦的事。我想到《以弗所书》2章8-10节。我们经常引用前两节经文，这里说我们得救唯独出于恩典，而不是我们的好行为，免得有人自夸。第10节经文说到我们原是上帝的工作，在基督耶稣里造成的，为要叫我们行善 ，就是神所预备叫我们行的。我的救恩是来自上帝的礼物。我的信心是来自上帝的礼物。我的善行是来自上帝的礼物。我无法居功自傲，一切荣耀都归给上帝。
我知道如果上帝将任何一件事情留给我做，我就断送了一切。但恰恰因为上帝成就了一切，我才能活在真正的平安里：与上帝和睦相处，与自己也和睦相处。
祷告：主耶稣，再次感谢你为我的救恩所做的一切。我今天向你献上祷告：希望我的生命是一个持续不断感恩的生命，一个将一切归荣耀给你的生命。在这个不知道平安为何物的世界，让我因你里面的平安而欢喜快乐，这超人意料的平安本是你所赐的。我这样祈求是奉你的名。阿们。
I am again reminded in these verses that God has done it all for my salvation. We could not make peace with God, but God made peace with us by reconciling us to himself through the blood of Jesus, whom he raised from the dead. He has made an everlasting covenant with us, a covenant which says that he will forgive our iniquities and remember our sins no more. I did not and I cannot do anything at all to make it better than that.
Even more, he has equipped me with every good thing to do his will, and he works in m continually to do what is pleasing in his sight. I am reminded of the passage from Ephesians 2:8-10. We often quote the first two verses, that says we are saved by grace alone and not by works so that no one can boast. But verse ten tells us that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God planned in advance for us to do. My salvation is a gift from God. My faith is a gift from God. My good works are a gift from God. I will take credit for nothing, but only give glory to God for everything.
I know that if God left even one thing for me to do by myself, I would have ruined it altogether. But because God has done it all, I can truly live in peace – at peace with God and at peace with myself.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you again for doing everything necessary for my salvation. My prayer to you today is that my life might be a life of continuing thanksgiving, a life which gives you glory in everything. And in this world which knows no peace, let me rejoice in your peace, the peace which passes all understanding. I ask this in your name. Amen.
