•35还说话的时候，有人从管会堂的家里来，说：“你的女儿死了，何必还劳动先生呢？”36耶稣听见所说的话，就对管会堂的说：“不要怕，只要信！”37于是带着彼得、雅各和雅各的兄弟约翰同去，不许别人跟随他。38他们来到管会堂的家里，耶稣看见那里乱嚷，并有人大大地哭泣哀号，39进到里面，就对他们说：“为什么乱嚷哭泣呢？孩子不是死了，是睡着了。”40他们就嗤笑耶稣。耶稣把他们都撵出去，就带着孩子的父母和跟随的人，进了孩子所在的地方，41就拉着孩子的手，对她说：“大利大，古米！”（翻出来就是说：“闺女，我吩咐你起来！”）42那闺女立时起来走，他们就大大地惊奇。闺女已经十二岁了。43耶稣切切地嘱咐他们，不要叫人知道这事，又吩咐给她东西吃。
耶稣整个事工生涯中，一共行了三次复活的神迹。我们可以理解为什么他吩咐那些看见这神迹的人，不要告诉别人，因为当耶稣使拉撒路复活时，耶稣的敌人就更加疯狂的要杀害他。耶稣让睚鲁的女儿复活，这个时候，耶稣刚开始他的事工，还没有到他被杀的时刻。即使是耶稣行的普通神迹，都会让耶稣和敌人之间的张力增加，更何况是这种让死人复活的神迹，如果传开，情况会更糟糕。
然而，耶稣也确保有见证人见证他那天所做的事。他选择了他的核心门徒，彼得，雅各和约翰，并把他们和女孩的父母一起带到房间。然后他吩咐那女孩起来，她就活过来了。
神的儿子有超越死亡的能力。你要相信这一点，因为他在这个故事和另外两个死人复活的场合展示了这种能力。当他在末日再来的时候，他要发出命令，所有的坟墓都要被打开。死人会复活。不像你看的电影里那些僵尸场景，里面的人骨头上都是腐烂的肉，蹒跚而行。在末日他叫你复活的时候，你必要复原，各方面都是完全的。
这个故事让我今天一天的生活都变得明亮起来，因为它使我盼望着，耶稣让我从死里复活，我将与他面对面的那一天。
祷告:主耶稣啊，我对复活的盼望不会落空。那将是多么荣耀的一天啊!借着对复活的盼望，求你支持我度过人生的艰难时期。阿们。
Mark 5:35-43: While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” 36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” 37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40 But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat. (NIV)
Jesus did three resurrection miracles. We can understand why he told them not to tell people about this miracle, because when Jesus raised Lazarus, the enemies of Jesus ramped up their efforts to kill him. It was early in his ministry, and it was not time for that. And if his “normal” miracles caused him to struggle with the crowds, certainly a resurrection miracle would make it even worse.
Yet, Jesus made sure that there were witnesses to what he did that day. He chose his inner circle of disciples, Peter, James and John, and brought them into the young girl’s room with him, along with her parents. Then he told her to get up, and she came to life.
The Son of God has the power over death. Believe it, because he demonstrated that power in this story and on two other occasions. When he comes again on the last day, he will speak the command and every grave will be opened. The dead will live again. Not like the “living dead” movies you see, where people stumble around with rotting flesh on their bones. When he raises you on the last day, you will be restored and made perfect in every way.
Today my day is brightened by this story because it makes me dream of that glorious day when Jesus raises me from the dead and I will see him face to face.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, my hope in the resurrection will not disappoint. What a day of glory that will be! Sustain me through the difficult times of my life by giving me hope in the resurrection. Amen.
