如果你遇到耶和华见证会的人，他们会争辩说上帝的儿子不等同于父，因为父先来，而子后来。希伯来书的这些经文阐明了父与子的关系。这不是先后的线性关系，而是永恒的关系。作者引用了诗篇第2章有关弥赛亚的内容，以及撒母耳记下7章14节，在这两处旧约经文，上帝应许大卫的子孙或后裔将永远统治这个国。

If you get a Jehovah’s Witness at your door, they will argue that the Son of God cannot be equal to the Father because the Father came first and the Son came later. These verses from Hebrews unravel the mystery of the relationship between God the Father and God the Son. It is not a linear relationship, but an eternal relationship. The writer quotes Psalm 2, which speaks of the Messiah, and 2 Samuel 7:14, where God promises that David’s son or heir would reign over the kingdom forever.
Our God is eternal. Do you understand what that means? Maybe in theory, but not so much in practice or experience. Eternal means that there is no beginning and no end. We can almost grasp the second, but we cannot grasp the first. What does it mean that God has no beginning? Everything has a beginning – except God. And that’s why the eternal nature of God is something that is hard for us to That is why Jesus has a name that is superior to the angels, a name that is above every name. grasp and wrap our minds around. The rules for time that we live by do not apply to God, who is eternal, who is beyond time.
So when God says about the Christ, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father,” that today applies to God’s relationship to the Son in every moment of eternity … yesterday, today, and forever.. There was never a moment when God, the Father, and God, the Son, did not exist in this eternal relationship. This is why confess in the Nicene Creed, “eternally begotten of the Father.”
And if all of this blows your mind away, then take it one step further. The eternal Father put his eternal Son on the cross to atone for your sins.
Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, you chose to make yourself known to us through your Son, Jesus, and to atone for our sins through him as well. It is hard for my mind to grasp what it means to be begotten from eternity. What I cannot understand by my reason, let me accept by faith and believe. Amen.
