希伯来书12:22-24：22你们乃是来到锡安山、永生神的城邑，就是天上的耶路撒冷。那里有千万的天使，23有名录在天上诸长子之会所共聚的总会，有审判众人的神和被成全之义人的灵魂，24并新约的中保耶稣，以及所洒的血。这血所说的比亚伯的血所说的更美。
这是一幅多么辉煌的画卷，描绘了福音带给我们的一切。你已经来到锡安山，天上的耶路撒冷。 藉着对耶稣的信心，我们已经拥有了天堂。这就好像你已经拥有了退休后的居所，已经付完款并完全装修好，就等你退休的那一天了。你结束今生的焦虑和挣扎，在天上和我们的救主耶稣在一起。锡安山上没有恐惧和绝望，只有永久的喜乐和平安。
你来到天上诸长子共聚的总会。在古代，长子有权承受一切产业。藉着基督，所有属于上帝国度的产业都成为你的了。保罗在《罗马书》第8章中写道：你们和耶稣一同成为后嗣。我们的未来和耶稣紧密相连！
你的名字也写在天上了。想想这有多美妙！你的座位已经被预定好。你会和那些被成全之义人的灵魂在一起。这就是你在神面前的样子，在基督里你是完全的。我们看自己是不完美的，我们是有罪有缺陷的。但重要的是神所看我们的样子–他亲爱的儿女披戴了耶稣的义。
我们为何能如此肯定？因为耶稣做了新约的中保。新约完全是关于恩典的。和西奈山上旧约不同，它不要求我们做什么。我们成为上帝的子民不是因为我们遵守了他的诫命。新约意味着耶稣为我们成就了大事，而不是我们为他做了什么事。耶稣的血比亚伯的血所说的更美。亚伯的血呼唤的是复仇，而耶稣的血呼唤的是怜悯。我们何等喜乐，因为我们知道将在天堂拥有一席之地！
Hebrews 12: 22 Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God; to the heavenly Jerusalem; to tens of thousands of angels in joyful assembly; 23 to the church of the firstborn whose names are written in heaven; to God, who is the judge of all; to the spirits of righteous people who have been made perfect; 24 to Jesus, the mediator of a new testament; and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better message than the blood of Abel.

祷告：天父，我没有资格进入天堂，除非耶稣的宝血在你的宝座前替我祈求，他为我祈求你的怜悯而不是审判。单单藉着在耶稣里面的信心，我知道天堂是我的。但是，我仍然生活在一个有罪的世界里。请帮助我活好每一天，不是作为这个世界的公民，而是作为天堂的子民。
What a glorious description of what we have in the gospel! You have already come to Mount Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem. By faith in Jesus, heaven is already ours. It’s like having your retirement home purchased and completely finished, just waiting for the day you retire from this life of struggle and worry and join our Savior in heaven. There is no fear or despair on Mt. Zion – only joy and peace forever.
You have come to the church of the firstborn. The firstborn in ancient times always inherited everything. Everything that belongs to the kingdom of God is yours in Christ. Paul says in Romans 8 that you are heirs together with Christ. Our future is intimately bound together with Jesus!
Your name is written in heaven. Imagine that! Your place is reserved! You’ve come to the spirits of righteous people who have been made perfect. That is what you are in the sight of God! You are perfect in Christ! We do not see ourselves as perfect. We are flawed and sinful. But what counts is what God sees – his dear children clothed with the righteousness of Jesus.
And how can we be so sure? Because Jesus is the mediator of a new testament or covenant. The new covenant is all about grace. It does not make demands, as the covenant on Mount Sinai did. We are not God’s people IF we obey his commandments. The new covenant Jesus did for us and not what we have done for him. It says that the blood Jesus is better than the blood of Abel. Abel’s blood cried out for vengeance. Jesus’ blood cries out for mercy. What joy we have knowing that we have a place in heaven! Prayer: Heavenly Father, I make no claim for heaven except this, that the blood of Jesus has pleaded my case before your throne and spoke for mercy and not judgment. I know that heaven is mine by faith in him alone. Yet, I live here in this world of sin. Help me to live each day, not as a citizen of this world, but as a citizen of heaven. Amen.
