哥林多前书8:4-6：4论到吃祭偶像之物，我们知道偶像在世上算不得什么，也知道神只有一位，再没有别的神。5虽有称为神的，或在天，或在地，就如那许多的神，许多的主；6然而我们只有一位神，就是父，万物都本于他，我们也归于他；并有一位主，就是耶稣基督，万物都是藉着他有的，我们也是藉着他有的。
只能有一位神，他既是造物主，也是宇宙的至高统治者，这真理难道不是符合逻辑的，而且也显而易见的吗？对我来说，这当然是真理，因为我的心已经被圣父圣子圣灵所得着。上帝的话语已经教导我里面的灵。但对于这个世界和我们的文化来说，基督信仰并不是占据主导地位的信仰。我们的文化认为有各种各样的神灵存在，没有哪一个比另一个更好或更差。今天我居住的这个国家，世界三大主要宗教都可以追溯到它们在这里开始的时间。
为什么我的基督教信仰比其他的信仰都要好？归根结底，我相信基督教信仰是唯一能带给人真实盼望的宗教信仰。所有其他的宗教都教导，你要凭借自己言语和行为来与神和解。只有基督教信仰宣称，上帝藉着基督使世人与他自己和好（并且上帝亲自来到我们中间，带给我们和好的信息！）。我的上帝来到世间为我的罪受苦，因为他不忍心看到他的天堂里没有我。这个世界因为我们的信仰和教导抨击我们，但这怎么能拦阻我们去教导真理呢？
祷告：主耶稣，在你身上体现了最完全的神性。阿们。藉着你和你的教导，我们知道只有一位神，但同时有三个不同的位格。我们知道我们的神满有怜悯和慈爱。你赐给我不配拥有的盼望。请帮助我将这个盼望分享给世人。阿们。
1 Corinthians 8: 4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that “An idol is nothing at all in the world” and that “There is no God but one.” 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
There can be only one God, one supreme ruler of the universe, one creator, right? Isn’t that logical and obvious? To me it is because my heart has been captured by God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And my spirit in me has been instructed by the Word of God. But that is not the predominant belief in the world and in our culture. Our culture would say that there are all kinds of gods, and not one is better or worse than any other. I am sitting here today in a land which three major religions in the world trace their origins.
Why is my Christian faith better than any of the others? In the end, I believe that the Christian faith is the only one that gives us real hope. All other religions teach that you must reconcile yourself to God by your words and actions. Only the Christian faith says that God has reconciled the world to himself in Christ (and has given us the message of reconciliation!). I have a God who came to suffer for my sins because he could not bear to be in heaven without me. The world will slam us for believing and teaching this, but how can we hold back from teaching the truth?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are the fullest revelation of the deity. Amen. Through you and through your teachings, we have learned that there is one God, yet three persons. We have learned that our God is one of compassion and mercy. You have given me hope when I did not deserve it. Help me to share this hope with the world. Amen.
