哥林多前书：12：27-31: 27你们就是基督的身子，并且各自作肢体。28神在教会所设立的：第一是使徒，第二是先知，第三是教师，其次是行异能的，再次是得恩赐医病的、帮助人的、治理事的、说方言的。29岂都是使徒吗？岂都是先知吗？岂都是教师吗？岂都是行异能的吗？30岂都是得恩赐医病的吗？岂都是说方言的吗？岂都是翻方言的吗？31你们要切切的求那更大的恩赐。我现今把最妙的道指示你们。
保罗再次列出上帝赋予教会的某些恩赐。我不知道我们该不该想哪个恩赐“居于首位，”但是看来保罗似乎的确列出了某种优先次序，因为他谈到要追求更大的恩赐。论到教会的重要恩赐，在保罗写这封书信的年代，使徒对教会来说是非常重要的。但请注意，“教师”也没有落后很远。相反，一些不同寻常的恩赐，诸如医病和说方言，保罗在末后才提到。
如果你看一下这些恩赐的前三个：使徒、先知和教师，他们都和上帝的话语有关系。上帝就是这样建造他的教会的，一次一个成员。你的身体可以得到医治，但这无法保证你能相信上帝。需要有人来教导你上帝的救恩计划和他的话语。

1 Corinthians 12: 27 You are the body of Christ, and individually you are members of it. 28 And God appointed in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then miracles, healing gifts, helpful acts, leadership abilities, kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers? 30 Do all have healing gifts? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But eagerly seek the greater gifts. And now, I am going to show you a more excellent way. (EHV)
Again, Paul lists some of the gifts that God had given to his church. I don’t know if we should even think about “the top of the list,” but it would seem as if Paul is giving somewhat of a priority because he talks about seeking the greater gifts. And if there were important gifts to God’s church at the time of writing this letter, the apostles would be certainly very important to God’s church. But notice that “teachers” are not that far behind. On the other hand the extraordinary gifts like healing and speaking in tongues are the last things that he mentions.
If you look at the first three, apostles, prophets, and teachers, they all have to do with the Word of God. That’s how God builds his church, one member at a time. You can have your body healed, but that won’t guarantee that you will believe. Someone still has to teach you God’s plan of salvation and his Word.
Jesus told us to pray that God would send workers into his harvest field. Pray that God would bless his Church with an abundance of workers who teach and preach the Word of God. Encourage someone you know to seek those gifts by training to become a pastor or teacher.
Prayer: Lord of the harvest, send out workers into your harvest field! Move the hearts of our young people especially to see that seeking to become a pastor or teacher in your Church is wonderful way to serve you and your body, the Church. Amen.
