•30使徒聚集到耶稣那里，将一切所作的事、所传的道全告诉他。31他就说：“你们来，同我暗暗地到旷野地方去歇一歇。”这是因为来往的人多，他们连吃饭也没有工夫。32他们就坐船，暗暗地往旷野地方去。33众人看见他们去，有许多认识他们的，就从各城步行，一同跑到那里，比他们先赶到了。34耶稣出来，见有许多的人，就怜悯他们，因为他们如同羊没有牧人一般，于是开口教训他们许多道理。
耶稣听到他的表弟施洗约翰被斩首的消息后，耶稣和他的门徒们寻找一个安静的地方，退到那里休息。问题是耶稣很容易被认出来，特别是他带着十二个门徒一起行动。于是百姓们跟着耶稣，他忙碌的一天又开始了。你有过这样的日子吗?结束一项工作后马上开始另一项?你工作了一整天回到家，你已经累了。你只是想回家休息。但当你进门的那一刻，你的孩子在门口等着你，要你花时间和精力陪他们。
你看到耶稣的反应了吗?耶稣就怜悯他们，因为他们如同羊没有牧人一般，于是开口教训他们许多道理。我们有一位谦卑、耐心、慈爱、无私的救主!他很累，需要休息，但他把自己和自己的时间无私地奉献给那些需要他的人。
耶稣是一个完全无私的人，他这样做都是为了你的缘故。你每天都会经历那些让你感到软弱的事情，他同样也会经历，但这些事情从未阻止他无私的付出。他的公义归于我们，就是我们的公义。他完美的生命归于我们，神看我们不再是我们有罪污秽的生命，而是他完美圣洁的生命。他不仅仅是我们人生的榜样。他就是我们的生命。
祷告:主耶稣，我属于你，你也属于我!谢谢你成为我的牧人，你无私的为我付出一切，你知道我的需要，并供应我所需的一切。阿们。
Mark 6:30-34: The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” 32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place. 33 But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. 34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. (NIV)
Reeling from the news that his cousin, John the Baptist, had been beheaded, Jesus sought a retreat with his disciples in a quiet place. The problem was that Jesus was easily recognized. How many other men were walking around with a dozen disciples? So they followed Jesus, and his busy day started all over again. Have you ever had one of those days? Work on work? You get home after a long day on the job. You are tired. You just want to put your feet up. But the moment you come through the door, a rush of little feet meet you at the door and demand your time and attention.
Do you see how Jesus responded? He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. What a humble, patient, loving, selfless Savior we have! He was tired and needed rest, yet he gave of himself and his time unselfishly to those who needed him.
Jesus was that perfectly unselfish human being for your sake. He suffered the same weakness that you experience every day, but it never stopped him from giving more. His righteousness is mine and yours. His perfect life is what God sees when he looks at us. He is not just a model for my life. He IS my life.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am yours and you are mine! Thank you for being my selfless Shepherd, who knows my needs and provides for them all. Amen.
