•45耶稣随即催门徒上船，先渡到那边伯赛大去，等他叫众人散开。46他既辞别了他们，就往山上去祷告。47到了晚上，船在海中，耶稣独自在岸上，48看见门徒因风不顺，摇橹甚苦，夜里约有四更天，就在海面上走，往他们那里去，意思要走过他们去。49但门徒看见他在海面上走，以为是鬼怪，就喊叫起来，50因为他们都看见了他，且甚惊慌。耶稣连忙对他们说：“你们放心，是我，不要怕！”51于是到他们那里上了船，风就住了，他们心里十分惊奇。52这是因为他们不明白那分饼的事，心里还是愚顽。
为什么门徒们感到惊奇?他们不明白耶稣掰饼让五千人吃饱的事，他们的心是刚硬的，这是什么意思呢?我认为这意味着他们没有把耶稣是全能的上帝，这个显而易见的真理，应用到他们生活的每一个处境中。
我们也会一样。我知道耶稣死在十字架上是为了赦免每一个人的罪。但是和我有什么关系呢?他怎么可能赦免我的罪呢?我知道耶稣无处不在，他也应许说他永远不会抛弃我。但为什么我感到如此孤独?或者，当这种事发生在我孩子身上时，耶稣在哪里?我知道神说他会供应我，但他为什么让我的生意失败呢?如果我们知道耶稣是谁，知道他做了什么，他应许了什么，但是如果我们不能把这些真理应用到我现在的处境中，那对我有什么益处呢?
当耶稣看到门徒当时的怀疑，当时的心里刚硬，他并没有不管这些门徒。即使在我们忘记或怀疑他是谁的时候，他也没有停止以神的恩典慈爱来对待我们。我们得救是单单靠着恩典，靠着神恒久不变的恩典。即使在软弱的时候，当我们的心刚硬，怀疑神的良善时，他的恩典仍然得胜。
祷告:主耶稣，我信！但我信不足，求主帮助！。阿们。
Mark 6:47-52: Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. 48 He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. Shortly before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, 50 because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, 52 for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. (NIV)
Why were the disciples caught by surprise? What does it mean that they didn’t understand about the loaves, and that their hearts were hardened? I think this means that they failed to apply the plain truth that Jesus is God almighty to every circumstance of their lives.
We tend to do the same thing. I know that Jesus died on the cross to forgive every sin. But mine? How could he have possibly forgiven mine? I know that Jesus is present everywhere. He will never forsake me. He promised that to me. But then why do I feel so alone? Or, where was Jesus when this happened to my child? I know that God says he will provide for me, but then why did he let my business fail? What good is it if we know who Jesus is and what he has done and what he has promised, if we fail to apply those truths to my circumstance in the moment?
Jesus didn’t walk past the disciples because they doubted and because their hearts were hardened in the moment. He doesn’t stop being who HE is even in those moments when we forget or doubt who he is. We are saved by grace alone, by God’s persistent and consistent grace. Even in moments of weakness, when our hearts are hardened and we doubt God’s goodness, his grace prevails.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief. Amen.
