6那少年人对她们说：“不要惊恐！你们寻找那钉十字架的拿撒勒人耶稣，他已经复活了，不在这里。请看安放他的地方。7你们可以去告诉他的门徒和彼得说：‘他在你们以先往加利利去。在那里你们要见他，正如他从前所告诉你们的。’”8她们就出来，从坟墓那里逃跑，又发抖，又惊奇，什么也不告诉人，因为她们害怕。

基督教的象征之一是空的十字架。当然也有的十字架上雕刻着耶稣的像。但似乎更常见的是一个普通的、空的十字架。当你看到空十字架时，记住天使对妇女说的话，“你们寻找那钉十字架的拿撒勒人耶稣，他已经复活了，不在这里。”空的十字架提醒我们耶稣死后又复活了。十字架和坟墓都无法限制他。他死了，又复活了。妇女和门徒都是见证人。

在我以前的教区，我们会分发小的十字架，你可以把它们别在西装或衬衫上。在小十字架上方有一个小的标语，通常你可能会看到INRI这几个字母。这些是拉丁字母，代表“拿撒勒人耶稣，犹太人的王。”但在我们发的小十字架上写着这样几个字“PAID IN FULL完全付清”。它提醒我们空十字架的真正含义。因为耶稣已经从死里复活，所以我们可以确信，当耶稣死的时候，我们的罪的代价已经被完全付上了。我们告诉教会的会友，如果有人喜欢那个十字架，他们应该把它送给他们，并告诉他们它的意思，然后再回来拿另一个。

但我最喜欢看到的是，当我们的某位会友去世时，那个十字架和他一起躺在棺材里，在他身上明显可见。这意味着他已经被神救赎。我们信耶稣死了，又复活了，并且我们因信耶稣，在神面前被称为义。我们的罪债已被偿还，我们也要与耶稣一同复活。

祷告:主耶稣，让我的心永远不怀疑你复活的故事，和你复活的意义。你是神的儿子。我的罪被赦免了。总有一天我会像你一样从死里复活!阿们。

Mark 16:6:-8: “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. ⁷ But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” ⁸ Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. (NIV)

One of the symbols of Christianity is the empty cross. There are certainly images and jewelry that picture Jesus on the cross (which is called a “crucifix”). But it seems that it is more common to see just a plain, empty cross. When you see the empty cross, remember the words the angel spoke. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified.”  The empty cross reminds us that Jesus died but rose again. Neither the cross nor the grave could contain him. He died, but he rose, and the women and the disciples were witnesses.

 In my former parish, we passed out small crosses that you could pin to your suit or blouse. On the small cross was a small sign above the cross piece, where normally you might see the letters INRI.  Those are the Latin letters that stand for “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” But on this cross was a message that read “PAID IN FULL.” It was a reminder of what the empty cross really meant. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we could be sure that when Jesus died, the debt of our sin was paid in full. Our members were instructed that if someone admired that cross, they should give it to them and tell them what it meant, and then come back and get another.

But what I loved to see most of all is when one of our members died, and that cross was prominently visible on their person in the casket with them. This is what it means to be the redeemed of God. We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and that we are justified by God through faith in Jesus. Our debt is paid in full.

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, let my heart never doubt the story of your resurrection, or what it means.  You are the Son of God. My sins are forgiven. Someday I will rise in glory as you rose from the dead! Amen.
