哥林多后书：3：7-11：7那用字刻在石头上属死的事奉尚且有荣光，以致以色列人因摩西脸上那逐渐褪色的荣光不能定睛看他的脸，8那属圣灵的事奉不是更有荣光吗？9若是那使人定罪的事奉有荣光，那使人称义的事奉的荣光就越发大了。10那从前有荣光的，因这更大的荣光，就算不得有荣光了；11若是那逐渐褪色的有荣光，这长存的就更有荣光了。
当摩西带着十诫走下西奈山，他的脸因反射出上帝的荣光而发光。这荣光是如此的明亮，以至于以色列人都无法直视他。摩西就用帕子蒙在脸上，反射在他脸上的荣光渐渐褪去。上帝就是用这种方式来表明，律法并不是他说的最后的话，不是他最后的决定。一个更大的荣光将在基督身上显现出来，耶稣在登山变像的时候，他自己的脸发出荣光。基督脸上的荣光是藉着福音显明给我们的。所以福音要远比律法更加伟大！
为什么福音必须在我们的生命和教导中占据主导地位？让我们听听保罗是怎么说的吧。律法的事奉，律法的职责本身是有荣光的，但它给人带来的是定罪；那福音的事奉，福音的职责，具有更大的荣光，因为它给人带来公义。律法告诉我们，因为我们的罪，我们不是义人，律法定我们的罪。福音为我们带来耶稣的义，福音告诉我们，我们在上帝面前被称为义。
作为基督徒我们需要更多听到福音。为什么？因为律法写在我们心里，每时每刻都在向我们说话。我们越了解圣经，我们就越意识到，我们是完全败坏的。我们的良心被律法磨得尖锐，被律法深深的伤害。这就是为什么我们需要更多听到福音。只有福音能让我们相信，因为耶稣的缘故，我们确实在上帝的眼中被看作是义人。如果你记不住那些曾经背过的圣经里福音的应许，那就把这些应许写在一叠卡片上，每天读一遍。我们需要多听福音!
祷告：主耶稣，无论今天还是今后每一天，愿你藉着福音使你的荣光照亮我的心。请让我的生命能反射出我在你脸上看到的荣光！阿们。
2 Corinthians 3: 7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts! (NIV)
Moses came down the mountain with the Ten Commandments, his face shown with the reflected light of God’s glory. It was so bright that people could not look at him and he would put a veil on his face until that reflected glory faded away. That was God’s way of saying that the Law did not have the final word. A greater glory would be revealed in Christ, whose face shown on the mountain of transfiguration with his own glory. That glory in the face of Christ has been revealed to us in the gospel. So how much greater is the gospel than the law!
Why must the gospel predominate in our living and our teaching? Listen to what Paul says. The ministry of the law, which in itself is glorious, brings condemnation. The ministry of the gospel is so much more glorious because it brings righteousness. The law tells us that we are NOT righteous, because of our sins. It condemns us. The gospels brings us the righteousness of Jesus, and tells us that we are justified in God’s sight.
As Christians we need to hear the gospel more. Why? Because the law was writdten in our hearts and speaks to us every moment of every day. Because the more we know the Bible, the more we come to realize how totally corrupt we are. Our conscience has been sharpened by the law and cuts deeply. That’s why we need to hear the gospel more! Only the gospel can convince us that we really are righteous in the sight of God for Jesus’s sake. If you can’t remember those gospel promises you once memorized, then make a stack of cards with those promises on them and run through them daily. We need to hear the gospel more!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, shine into my heart today and every day with the brilliant light that comes through the gospel. And let my life reflect that glory that I have seen in your face! Amen.
