•3我们虽然在血气中行事，却不凭着血气争战。4因为我们争战的兵器本不是属血气的，而是凭着 神的能力，能够攻破坚固的营垒。我们攻破各样的计谋，5和各样拦阻人认识 神的高垒，又夺回人心来顺服基督。6我已经预备好了，等你们完全顺服的时候来惩罚所有不顺服的人。
保罗提醒哥林多信徒，我们的争战并是不凭着血气，不是按着罪性，按照这个世界的方式进行的。我们是凭着上帝的话语争战。保罗说的一句话引起我的注意。“我们夺回人心来顺服基督”。在宗教改革期间，在沃尔姆斯会议上，马丁·路德在德国皇帝和选侯的面前说了 下面的话：“如果找不出圣经的道理或无可辩驳的理由使我折服，不能用我适才引述的圣经文句令我满意信服，无法用神的话语改变我的判断，那么，我不能够，也不愿收回我说过的任何一句话，因为基督徒违背自己的良心说话，既不安全，也不诚实。这就是我的立场，我没有别的话可说了。愿上帝保佑我，阿们！”他的判断和理性被上帝的话语夺回。
如果我们的争战是凭着血气，是按照罪性，按照这个世界的方式，我们会使用属世的思维方式和充满诱惑力的论点。每个新闻广播和每个商业广告都试图动摇你的想法。那些报纸和杂志主张的是人的智慧而不是上帝的智慧。政客们抛出各自的论点争取你的效忠。我们的教育是以人文哲学为主导的，认为人类是宇宙的中心，规则也应该由人类来制定。你的心和你的灵魂，陷入危险之中。所以要夺回人心，使它顺服基督。你可以经常问自己这个简单的问题：“对眼前这个问题上帝的话语是怎么说的？”
祷告：主耶稣，让我每天都能带你面前来聆听你的话语。请赐给我你的圣灵，使我能夺回我的心思意念，让它顺服你。阿们。
2 Corinthians 10: 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. (NIV)
Paul reminds the Corinthians that we do not fight our battles the way the world does. Rather, we fight our battles with the word of God. He uses one phrase that catches my attention today. “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Martin Luther stood before the Emperor and the princes of Germany and said this at the Diet of Worms. “If, then, I am not convinced by proof from Holy Scripture, or by cogent reasons, if I am not satisfied by the very text I have cited, and if my judgment is not in this way brought into subjection to God’s word, I neither can nor will retract anything; for it cannot be either safe or honest for a Christian to speak against his conscience. Here I stand; I cannot do otherwise; God help me!” His judgment and his reason was held captive by the Word of God.
We are waging war in the world that would woo us to its way of thinking with all matters of seductive arguments. Every news broadcast and every commercial is trying to sway your thinking. Newspapers and magazines argue for the prevailing wisdom of man rather than God. Politicians argue for your loyalty. Education in our country is dominated by the humanistic philosophy that man is at the center of the universe and makes his own rules. What is at stake is nothing less than your heart and your soul. So take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Always be asking yourself this one simple question, “What does God’s Word say about this?’
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let me find a place at your feet to listen to your Word daily! Send me your Holy Spirit, that I may take captive every thought and make it obedient to you. Amen.
