•1但愿你们容忍我小小的愚蠢；请你们务必容忍我。2我以 神嫉妒的爱来爱你们，因为我曾把你们许配给一个丈夫，要把你们如同贞洁的童女献给基督。3我只怕你们的心偏邪了，失去那向基督所献诚恳贞洁的心，就像蛇用诡诈诱惑了夏娃一样。4假如有人来，传另一个耶稣，不是我们所传过的；或者你们另受一个灵，不是你们所受过的圣灵；或者接纳另一个福音，不是你们所接纳过的；你们居然容忍了！
从十诫我们可以得出一个结论：耶和华是一个“忌邪”（嫉妒）的神。对我们来说，“嫉妒”这个词有负面的涵义，但实际上有时并不是这样。如果丈夫看到另一个男人和自己的妻子调情，丈夫有权利感到嫉妒。他之所以嫉妒是因为他很爱自己的妻子，也很想保护他们之间的关系。同样当上帝看到撒旦试探我们，试图引诱我们离开他时，上帝也会嫉妒。当保罗看到某些哥林多人被诱惑欺骗，去接受错误的教导时，他内心同样充满敬虔的嫉妒。你的家人或教会成员是否曾被诱惑远离耶稣？不要站在一旁袖手旁观；警戒他们，鼓励他们，关注他们，为他们嫉妒，正如上帝为他们嫉妒一样。
这也是为什么基督徒团契如此重要的原因之一。我们可以彼此看顾。我曾经很担心新冠疫情对社交距离的限制政策，会对基督徒团契带来负面的影响。 如果你周日早晨甚至躺在床上就可以在网上看到牧师讲道，为什么还要去教会呢？新冠疫情是否会让基督信仰产生变化，基督信仰变得更个人化，更网络化，从而取代了面对面的基督徒团契？
诗篇122篇1节：“人对我说‘我们往耶和华的殿去’，我就欢喜。”上帝从来没有要我们在基督徒团契方面与其他基督徒隔离。上帝要我们在信心中一起敬拜，彼此勉励，彼此守望。
祷告：主耶稣，无论发生什么，都不要让我们对基督徒团契的渴望消失，不要让我们减少对基督徒聚会的热情。主啊，请教导我们看顾那些信心软弱和偏离的人，免得撒但把他们引入歧途。阿们。
2 Corinthians 11: I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me! 2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. (NIV)
The Conclusion to the Ten Commands tells us that God is a “jealous” God. For us that word “jealous” has negative connotations, but it does not have to. A husband has a right to be jealous if a man is flirting with his wife. He is jealous because he loves her dearly and will protect his relationship with her. In the same way, God is jealous when he sees Satan tempting us and trying to lead us away from him. Paul had that same godly jealousy in his heart when he saw some of the Corinthians being led away into false teaching. Do you have a family member or a fellow church member who is being led away from Jesus? Don’t stand by and watch it happen. Warn them. Encourage them. Keep after them. Be jealous for them as God is jealous for them.
That’s one reason why Christian community is so important. We look out for each other. I am afraid that this Covid virus social distancing routine will have a negative effect on Christian community. Why go to church when you can watch your choice of pastor on the internet on Sunday morning, without even getting out of your pajamas? Will 2020 be marked as the year when the Christian faith becomes more privatized and on-line, rather than a community celebration?
Psalm 122:1: “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let’s go to the house of the Lord.’” God never meant us to socially isolate ourselves from other Christians. God meant for us to worship together, to encourage one another, to watch out for each other in the faith. I pray that when we can come together in worship again, our churches will be fuller than ever before.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let this pandemic crisis whet our thirst for you and for gathering with your people. Teach us, Lord, to watch out for the weak and the straying so that Satan will not lead them astray. Amen.
