马太福音27:27-31：27巡抚的兵就把耶稣带进衙门，叫全营的兵都聚集在他那里。28他们给他脱了衣服，穿上一件朱红色袍子；29用荆棘编作冠冕，戴在他头上；拿一根苇子放在他右手里，跪在他面前，戏弄他说：“恭喜，犹太人的王啊！”30又吐唾沫在他脸上，拿苇子打他的头。31戏弄完了，就给他脱了袍子，仍穿上他自己的衣服，带他出去，要钉十字架。

很多孩子在学校都曾被霸凌、嘲笑和戏弄。那是一种孤独的感受，因为没有人为你挺身而出，除非这些旁观者成为被霸凌的下一个目标。你不得不日复一日忍受这一切。你甚至希望自己不用去上学。有时候老师会干预，但更经常的情况是发生在老师的视线之外。成年人也会被欺负，但方式不一样。

耶稣是我们的亲爱朋友。耶稣知道被霸凌的滋味。那些士兵对他的行事更为恶劣，这是一群粗暴的人，这些经验丰富的士兵知道如何残忍行事。他们讥笑他，称他为犹太人的王。对他们而言，他看上去不太像一个王，因为受到鞭伤还在流血。他们把一个荆棘冠冕戴在他头上，将一根苇子放在他手里，还为他穿上袍子，然后还用苇子一次次打他的头。我从来没有经历过这样的暴力，或许你也没有经历过。

耶稣经历了。他没有诅咒他们，也没有回过身来向他们吐唾沫。他无声地忍受了鞭打和嘲笑。他这样做是为了你和我，当我们以错误的方式处理生活中霸凌行为时，当我们犯罪时，他为我们的罪承受这些苦难。正是因为他受苦，希伯来书的作者写道：“所以，他凡事该与他的弟兄相同，为要在神的事上成为慈悲忠信的大祭司，为百姓的罪献上挽回祭。他自己既然被试探而受苦，就能搭救被试探的人。”（希伯来书：2:17-18）

祷告：主耶稣，你就是我的完美和圣洁。在你受苦的时候，你从来没有抱怨和反击。当我在这世上挣扎的时候，请帮助我安静耐心忍耐，等待你再来并永远搭救我的那日。阿们。

Matthew 27:27-31:  Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, 29 and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. 30 They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. 31 After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

Many children in school get bullied and mocked and made fun of. It’s a lonely feeling, because no one wants to stand up for you lest they become the bully’s next target. So you put up with it day after day. You may even wish you didn’t have to go to school. Sometimes teachers intervene, but more often it’s done out of sight. Adults get bullied, too, but in different ways.

What a Friend we have in Jesus! Jesus knows what it is like to be bullied.  Only what they soldiers did to him was worse. This was a rough crowd. These were seasoned soldiers who knew how to be cruel. They mocked Jesus because they called him the king of the Jews. He didn’t look much like a king to them, still bleeding from his scourging. They put a crown of thorns on his head and a staff in his hand and a robe. And they beat him some more with the staff – on the head again and again. I’ve never experienced that kind of violence and I doubt if you have either.

Jesus did. He didn’t curse them. He didn’t spit back. He bore their beating and their mocking in silence. He did it for you and for me, for all the inappropriate ways in which we responded to those bullies in our lives.  And because he suffered for us, the writer to the Hebrews says:  “For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.” (Hebrews 2:17-18)

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, you are my perfection and my holiness.  In all your suffering, you never complained or struck back. When I struggle here on earth, help me to endure quietly and patiently, waiting for that day when you will come and deliver me forever.  Amen.
