9但你们要谨慎，因为人要把你们交给公会，并且你们在会堂里要受鞭打，又为我的缘故站在诸侯与君王面前，对他们作见证。10然而，福音必须先传给万民。11人把你们拉去交官的时候，不要预先思虑说什么；到那时候，赐给你们什么话，你们就说什么，因为说话的不是你们，乃是圣灵。12弟兄要把弟兄，父亲要把儿子，送到死地，儿女要起来与父母为敌，害死他们。13并且你们要为我的名被众人恨恶，惟有忍耐到底的，必然得救。”
教会过去受到逼迫，将来也会一直受到逼迫。在尼泊尔，给孩子施洗可能会被判10年监禁。在巴基斯坦，公开传福音会让你被判死刑。20世纪为基督信仰而死的人比人类历史上其他任何时期都多。在我国（美国）对基督信仰的逼迫比较隐蔽，但却是真实存在的。在许多公立学校，不同意性别和性取向问题可能会让你被解雇。大学里的学生如果相信像创世论这样“古老”的东西，就会受到嘲笑。对许多人来说，科学已成为这个时代的神。最近你听过多少次“跟随科学”或“相信科学”的说法?
但当这种事发生在你身上时，不要害怕。耶稣给了我们一个美丽的应许。“人把你们拉去交官的时候，不要预先思虑说什么；到那时候，赐给你们什么话，你们就说什么，因为说话的不是你们，乃是圣灵”。不要因为别人的逼迫而保持沉默!
这些经文给了我们一个关于耶稣再来的时间上的细节。耶稣再来之前，”福音必须先传给万民”。今天世界上还有什么地方福音没有传到呢?有了互联网、广播和电视，世界各地的人们都有机会听到福音。今天，我们在世界各地的宣教士通过互联网，与各地的人们建立了如此多的联系，以至于上帝摆在我们面前的机会超出我们跟进的进度。
耶稣就要来了。现在我们不应什么都不做就等着耶稣来临，因为数十亿人还需要听到耶稣的信息。耶稣即将再来，我们应该行动起来。
祷告:主耶稣，愿你快来!求你帮助我充分利用每一个机会，向这个世界宣讲你的福音。求你常帮助我，使我准备好告诉别人我在你里面所存盼望的缘由。阿们。
Mark 13:9-13: “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. (NIV)
The church has been and always will be persecuted. In Nepal, baptizing a child can get you ten years in prison. In Pakistan, preaching the gospel openly can get you the death sentence. More people died for their faith in the 1900’s than in all the rest of human history. Persecution in our country is more subtle, but real nevertheless. Disagreeing with issues of gender and sexuality can get you fired in many public schools. Students in colleges are held up to ridicule if they believe in something as “archaic” as creation. For many, science has become the god of this age. How often have you heard recently, “Follow the science,” or “Believe the science.”
But don’t be afraid when that happens to you. Jesus gives us a beautiful promise. “Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.” Don’t let people bully you into being silent!
These verses give us one small detail about the timing of the second coming. “And first the gospel must be preached to all nations.” Is there any place in the world today where the gospel has not found its way? With the internet and radio and television, people everywhere have the opportunity to hear the gospel. Today our missionaries around the world are making so many connections through the internet that it is hard to keep up with the opportunities God has placed before us.
Jesus is coming soon. Now is not the time to sit on our hands while billions still need to hear about Jesus! The imminent return of Jesus should move us to action.
Prayer: Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Help me to make the most of every opportunity to proclaim your gospel to the world. Always help me to be ready to give a reason for the hope that I have in you. Amen.
